Stanford finishes with a strong semifinal appearance, going 3-0 on Saturday, 2-1 on Sunday, and 1-1 on Monday, with our only losses to the two finalists, by 4 points apiece.

Decimated by injuries and a car accident, Stanford battled hard against California competition but only came away with two wins against UCSC.

Nationals

We had the strongest pool the first day with Georgia, Carleton, and Williams. We started off the day with a Stanford Invite finals rematch and wanted to show Georgia how much we had improved since Invite. We won 15-9 and had a nice long bye before Williams. After beating Williams 15-8, we had yet another bye before a hard-fought game against Carleton. It was close the entire game, but Carleton went up 13-10 near the end. Although we only needed 12 points to finish first in our pool, that wasn't enough. We caught up and made it 15-14 Stanford and then traded for the victory at 17-16. It was a very exciting a tiring game, but we had a day to recover. The next day we played Texas in another exciting game, winning 15-11. Now it was time for the game we had waited the whole year for, Wisconsin. We wanted our revenge from Finals at Centex and knew that this would be our toughest game of the tournament. We lost 15-6, putting everything we had into it. It was a great season and we are excited for next year.
