2011 USAU College Championships

Entering the tournament at the 17th overall seed, Bloodthirsty came to Boulder with a chip on its shoulder. In the first game of pool play Blood fell to the #2 overall seed, Colorado Mamabird an a 13-9 contest that was even closer than the score reflected. Coming off a 6 hours bye that night, Bloodthirsty faced the #3 pool seed, Virginia. Knowing it was a must-win contest, Stanford began the game by going up 5-0 and never let up, winning by a final score of 15-8. The next day Stanford faced longtime Northwest rival Oregon Ego. Plagued by drops and bad luck, Blood fell to Ego 15-8. In the final game of pool play, Stanford faced Texas TUFF with a trip to the knockout rounds on the line. A trading points for nearly the entire game, Stanford stepped to the line to receive on double-game point. A attempted huck flew long, putting Texas in possession on the corner of their endzone. TUFF looked to dump swing across the field but were stopped by an enormous layout D by Ryan Thompson. Pulse then picked up the disc and tossed a lefty backhand that sent Stanford through to pre-quarters.
